Emma’s first HR job out of university was in manufacturing, and she has been supporting people in manufacturing businesses ever since. She joined Gen Phoenix in 2015 from Videndum (fka, Vitec), a manufacturer of high-performance professional video equipment, where she held positions of increasing responsibility, eventually managing HR for all of EMEA. Previously she spent 5 years at Sermatech, since acquired by Praxair, an engineered coatings manufacturer. It was there that she discovered her passion for non-traditional HR, focusing on people not merely process.
A people person, Emma is Gen Phoenix’s CPS (Chief Problem Solver). She has time, and food, for any employee who needs it, from an executive colleague to a factory floor operator. This very human approach to HRM has its roots in Emma’s upbringing as a proper Lincolnshire girl who worked her way through college in her family’s corner store and at the local pub. She loves Gen Phoenix – both its people and its purpose, works hard to make the company one where every employee can thrive, and she takes enormous pride in working for a manufacturing company in the UK.
Emma is a committed auntie to her seven nieces and nephews, and she relaxes by spending time in nature, which she believes is the cure for all that ails you, and creating art in several different mediums.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a Master’s degree Human Resource Management from the University of Lincoln.
